How to transfer my files to Apple PC

Hello,
I will be getting an Apple Mini and need to know how to transfer my files from my lousy IBM. My files are saved on WordPad with back-up floppies and zips. Since Wordpad is a Microsoft program, how will I be able to transfer these files to an Apple? Thanks.
