Post-pregnancy weight loss and working out

I just gave birth to a health baby boy in February. I am now allowed to start working out but am confused as to one thing. I want to get my stomach back into shape but am afraid if I start doing sit-ups the extra fat will just turn hard. (Therefore my stomach won't be flat.) Should I lose all of the extra weight before I start doing sit-ups? I only have 10 more pounds to lose.

Don't worry. Fat burns, muscle firms.

Kiss the baby and start your situps--and welcome to A2K.

Congratulations! I wouldn't worry about it. If you do have any concerns, don't hesitate to make a call to your doctor. One piece of valuable advice that my doctor gave me - remember you took you 9 months to gain all that weight, so don't worry if you in do not lose it at right away. It can take a while.
