Hi All
I just joined this forum when I found the travel section.
I have lived overseas for 8 years and traveled to about 35 European Countries and South East Asia and etc.
I lived in South Africa for 4 years, Saudi for 2 and Kuwait for 2 up to and including the invasion DH & I were hostages.
I have to say I loved living in each country. Saudi was mysterious and I felt as though I had walked back in time to Biblical days when I first arrived there.
In Kuwait I had much more freedom and was allowed to drive. I could dress without worrying about wearing an Abiya and Hijab.
Life in both countries has a special lure about them which I grew to love.
Confused Girl, you cannot become a citizen of Kuwait by simply living there. You have to be a Kuwaiti by birth.
Oh WOW. I sure came late to this forum. LOL all of your post are dated 2005.
I do hope that the Middle East didn't end in Asia on here. That would be a travesty.
Kelly--
Welcome to A2K. You sound as though you have a lot to contribute.
Really? The precise continent really matters that much? Let me work into this, but already, I'm suspecting it's a slow day on a2k.

Thanks for the welcome Noddy.
I did look around for an "Introduce Yourself" topic on here but didn't find one. I probably missed it. This is a very big forum.
I hope I can contribute something positive here. It looks like Saudi & Kuwait dried up. I did see Iraq on the Asian home. I don't understand how they can be placed in a 3rd world area.

It matters to me roger, if you are talking about my comments.
I don't really understand your a2k comment.
I'm talking about the entire subtopic of classifying the original post. By way of explanation, I got home from work and found three pages of unread posts. I scrolled down three pages, passed over Riddles, Word Games & Trivia, and Original Writing. Didn't take long. Why worry about which forum it belongs in, then?
What is your scheme, Kelly W? Do you just click on Africa, and see what's new? I know you're not just going for Asia; if you were, you wouldn't have seen this one.
I don't know. You use a camel as avatar. Are you from the middle east and don't want to be identified as African, or are you from North Africa, and prefer not to be considered Asian. In any case, I just don't see the original post gaining or losing because it isn't exactly classified as Asia, Africa, or Travel. In other words, it sounds like a slow day on a2k.
Uh, where you from, Kelly? And welcome to a2k.
I thought it was pretty obvious that I am new here. Look under my camel, which is just a photo of one I took while living in Kuwait.
I have only 5 post. I am just learning my way around here.
I chose Africa and Kuwait to reply to because I have lived in both. So they are of interest to me. No schemes, no ulterior motives. Why are you so suspicious? Been burned before by newbies?
I used the camel for my avatar because my penguins and cat don't work here. Is that ok with you Roger? I am quite proud of that shot of the baby camel.
I came here to discuss, not challenge nor be challenged. well, maybe a bit.
Since the rules above state post can be moved around at the Admin. discretion, I just wanted to know where to look for The Middle East ones. There is a big difference between The Middle East and Asia.
I looked for a topic on a2k so I could introduce myself here, but so far haven't found one. Maybe you can point me to it.
I am from Sunset Beach, Florida, born in the USA. 100% American. Living in the Philly Burbs now.
How about you? Where are you from? Where were you born & raised?
Are you a moderator here? Manager? Administrator?
Thanks for the welcome. I think. <VBG
Thanks Roger.
I introduced myself there.
