There was faith
Somewhere above
Diluted and shared
In anonymous helpings
To the fat and content
The royal babies flush on maternal sentiment
Flaccid and admirable
The rattle of their wealth
In the ears of blue children
Left to wield angry sabres
Calling upon their frustrations
To bring about change
Change to the everywhere
The temporary structures
Trestle bridges and pontoons
Falling miniatures of roman empires
Little Hitlers to bond
The relationships
Of stone and landscape and
Industrial facades smiling down on the blue children
The up-turned nose and down-turned eye
Watching for cracks
Beneath their carpets
Sensing the cold, they would not show it
The delicate furnishings
Around hollow trunks
In place of necks
Outstretched and receiving
Chubby paws
Drenched in derisory diamonds
Grotesque and heavy
Held up for to long
Inward affections, posturing
Centuries lived
In mirrors
With no way out
That's an interesting poem. I did not totally understand it, but I enjoyed the opportunity to read it. Thanks.
I agree with Edgar... I didn't understand it as much as I would have liked to, but It liked it alot...
