Changing Avatar

I know about the changing avatar php script that redirects to a certain picture, but what if I want the picture itself to change.

For instance, how would I make a code that allows me to set up a link somewhere else with an address that points to avatarscript.php/avatar.jpg, but then the picture itself changes randomly?

Is that even possible?
