With Rumsfeld zipping in and out of 'liberated, democratic' Iraq and Bush celebrating his moment of glory ('as important as the fall of the Berlin Wall') I, for one, am waiting to hear about what is the eventual fate of the deposed dictator.
If it's so good in Iraq- then surely they could get down to the business of justice, not just selling oil.
What's the earliest date for a trial anyone has heard of?
What are they going to charge him with? Anyone know? I would imagine it would be human rights abuses and that the arena of jurisdiction would be the International Criminal Court. Except I don't think Iraq has ratified it. If that's so then my understanding is that the ICC can't try him. But then I suppose the UN could do it under a form of International Criminal Tribunal.
It will be interesting to see if Iraq does it domestically as well.
Anyway I am watching with interest.
