She has done a ton of movies and always turns in a strong performance but my favorite is "Married to the Mob."
I agree...very clever acting.
And she pulled my heart strings in Sam I Am
Witches Of Eastwick. Great ensemble cast.
I liked her in: What Lies Beneath and Batman Returns
"Frankie and Johnny", with her and Al Pacino, is one of my favorite movies ever. I know, it's basically just a simple romantic comedy, but really, it's more than that. I'm not saying it's the greatest movie ever, but there's something about it that just gets me. And I think they both play really good, believable characters. But I'm a sap when it comes to movies like this.
Go ahead, rent it tonight. You'll thank me later.
Saw it a little while ago and you're right. It's a very good movie. I also liked her in "One Fine Day" with george Clooney. Pure fluff but, good fluff.
I think she played a great part in "Married to the Mob." Another good one is "LadyHawke."
Yep, Ladyhawke is one of my favorite guilty pleasures.
My favorite is probably Age of Innocence.
I was very impressed by her performance in "What Lies Beneath." I noticed that she actually changed what she was saying in the middle of a sentence, which is something that real people do all the time, but actors rarely capture. She usually looked like she was figuring out what she was saying only at the moment that she said it. I think she is pretty good.
The Pfeiffer film I enjoyed the most was "Age of Innocence". I also very much liked "Frankie and Johnny" but I felt that it lost much of the earthiness that was present in the off-Broadway stage version (Kathy Bates). I also went crawling up the wall during the scene in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" where she was sprawled out atop the piano.
I love her in Married to the Mob. It has my favourite romantic moment in it. <sigh>
I liked her in Frankie and Johnny. I also liked her as catgirl. But, I like her in general.
Catgirl, Her subtle personality change was reminisent* of Joann Woodward in "Thre Faces Of Eve"
* relax, I didn;t say eqaul to.
I loved her in Ladyhawke. She played Isabeau d'Anjou to Rutger Hauer's Catain Navarre. One of my favorite film scenes was her alter ego Ladyhawke flying across a lake. The hawk (a redtailed hawk) dipped the tips if it's wings into the water with each downbeat . Beautifully filmed.
She was fragile and tragically beautiful in "Dangerous Liasons".
You finally came up with the best Pfeiffer performance in "Dangerous Liasons" and what an ensemble of great actors were in that film!
Great film indeed. Wonderful performances all around.
In doubt between Frankie and Johnny and Dangerous Liaisons, maybe I go with the first one although I consider the second to be a greater film.
Maybe a posting of her filmography also? This might be a good idea for each discussion on specific stars or directors.
