actually, sony did make a strange hybrid ps2 that has a built in hard drive and can record dvds and acts like a tivo like device, and it was only available in japan

i do have a ps3

and it looks like the xbox 360

soon mtv are showing images of them both in the u.k
i already have it

the controllers are wireless, because the sensors are inside the ps3 which capture movement 2

also the graphics are miles more powerfuller then the ps2

it also has that network connection but more advanced, faster loading
and the discs are smaller, so they cant get copied ( a bit like the game cube games)

the psp is also out in america, which lots of memory space, watch full length films like spiderman 2
also it has ps2 graphics.... its worth getting for £230 with game included and delivery....

back to the ps3

it comes out in the u.k christmas or just after
