@tsarstepan,
You seem like an intelligent likeable person, why no confidence?

@Stormwatch,
Would blaming genes be a copout? The same can be asked of someone who is quite confident... where does that confidence come from?

@tsarstepan,
Wouldn't a happy medium be nice, functional yet humble?

@Stormwatch,
I'm aiming at that happy medium. Do you have any advice how to get there? And since I'm a book worm, have any reading suggestions on that topic as well?

@tsarstepan,
I suspect you have read far more than I ever have. Don't you think the confidence will come from within and not from a book?

@Stormwatch,
You're most likely right. I need a spiritual or emotional stoking to start whatever confidence in my personal confidence fire stove. Did I just butcher that poor metaphor?

@Stormwatch,
Everybody is busy with life I suppose... well most everybody. I can imagine there are some monks living in a monastery in some hard to reach mountain top who aren't ever too busy to find they're way, don'cha think?

Maybe not so busy but quite lonely right?

@Stormwatch,
The professor of my History of Buddhism class seemed to make that case against the whole idea of monasticism. Did you grow up in a church going family?

@tsarstepan,
I've attended church off and on throughout my life, but I find it hard to believe the true spirit of religion resides in a building don't you?

@Stormwatch,
I guess if you had the archeological skills of Indiana Jones you could find that architectural Holy Grail of a spirited building.

As for your general thesis? I can't find any fault in that logic, can I?

@Stormwatch,
Honestly? That's my nature, yes. Plus its kind of difficult to figure how to contradict in an appropriate question form. Sounds reasonable?
