It was good...the boys were a little apathetic...kind of lolligagged through it. I do my best to just take a deep breath and let them enjoy it...but man! I want them to put everything into it....they love baseball - so I don't understand these days...got any advice?

A lot of the enthusiasm comes for the team effort and the coach. If all of them get into it gets contageous. Sometimes takes a while when they are starting out on a new team with new kids though. My husband coaches and he's always trying to get the kids into it. Always gives me that task as dugout mom..lol Do all three of your boys play?

They do Stormy - and it is crazy...I am team Mom for the youngest one. I think that is a good point. They are on a new team and actually they are the only two new ones on it. I am not sure how the coach does it - but he manages to get the same kids every year...even though there is a draft...we are glad to be on his team - he is a great coach seemingly...but the boys are just a little off right now. The one is swinging late and has started stepping away from the plate instead of into it when he swings - so he is whiffing every time....oops...sorry that is way too much - anyway - maybe you are right...How long has your husband been coaching?

Being the only two new kiddos on the team is a good reason for them to be off a bit. They will settle in once they get to know the others and gel as a team. The draft is not really a completely random draft, coaches are able to get several of the same kids each year and then take chances on new ones that they don't know. It does help keep some players together for the long haul, for good or bad. My husband has coached for 5 years now and will continue. My son plays spring ball, and for the past three years on all stars in summer and then fall ball too. Do your boys have favorite positions?

One is first base the other is second base...one is playing first base and it is the one who likes to play second! Laughing The other is playing left field...I guess because he can catch and his arm is amazing...he can get it to first 9 out of 10 times and he is just 8 - I am a proud momma of course. How old is your son Stormy? (what you advised is very reassuring! thank you!)

The four year old is pretty oblivious to anything...today he was more interested in the dirt than if a ball was coming his way...I have to work hard to keep my mouth shut - my first impulse is to holler "G-baby" watch the batter son!" but once again..I take a deep breath and sit my butt on the bleachers...are you an outspoken Mom? or is that only me that finds myself doing that? Laughing

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant. Is this what she meant? Very Happy
