CPU running at 50%, toolbar missing, and many more problems.

As of last week, my computer has had a variety of problems. The cpu runs at a nonstop 50%. The toolbar either missing half the time, or doesn't work properly. Embedded links on websites don't work at all. MS products like Word and Excel crash when opened if they have embedded links. I can't copy/paste anything at all, in Word docs, or websites, or on AIM. I can't reach the Windows Update page anymore, nor can I install Windows Antispyware program, and whatever is wrong with my computer won't like my Norton Anti-Virus program update either. The most annoying thing is that I can't get any of my cd-burning programs to work (Nero and iTunes) so I can't back up my files or my music.

To date, I have done everything I could do up to the Windows Update (since I can't connect to it) on the Spyware checklist on this fourm, (Stinger, MircoTrend HouseCall, My own unupdateable Norton's, CWShedder and CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller removal tool, up to date Spybot S&D and AdAware, as well as Security Task Manager). All of those programs have told me that my computer is running clean, but the problems still remains, and I don't know what to do about this. I can't figure out a way to fix it without a reformat, and that would mean losing all of my files.

Any advice or help is welcomed.
