I was just thinking that there have been alot of movies over the years that critics love and win best picture and stuff, and then i see them and they just suck. so i was just curious what movies others felt were way overrated. i would say one of the most overrated would have to be Titanic, no way was that deserving of 11 academy awards.
Boy, Funkystu, I was looking at the topic and immediately thought, "Wow, no responses. I can get the first shot at bashing 'Titanic.'" Well, what'd you go and do?

Thoughs movies didnt get rave reviews, and i dissagree saw was descent.

thats a good idea u should start that thread, dumbest movies of all time. but yes overrated would be movies that were critically acclaimed/won awards but you think was undeserving of them or just plain sucked.

I agree! Titanic was a terrible bore for close to 2,5 hours.

Husker-Open water was filmed to appear as a home movie. To me it conveyed the terror of being at sea with no freeboard better than anything else of that genre-ever.
My nominee for worst all timer overhyped POS is
" Crouching Tiger, Hidden Kelbasi" It was as bad as the old Godzilla movies. It lost it in the details of free air motion and relict strings, and a really trite plot.

I love Jack Nicholson but lately, his movies are just kind of tired. But everybody loves them so I guess it's just me. Shoot. I liked "Titanic".
I thought Brother Where Art Thou was overrated, considering all the promotional hype that preceded it. Liked the music but found the storyline rather boring.
