Microsoft ends mainstream support for Windows 8.1 in January 2018.

Windows 10 wins by default. Also, it's more reliable and more visually pleasant a UI than 8.

@muditva,
As you know (being in IT), better is a relative term. It’s clearly not a better performer if you’re using current technology and current applications. It’s on its way to becoming obsolete and unsupported by MS. Windows 10 is quite a bit more stable, too.

BTW, how’s the weather in Hyderabad today?

@tsarstepan,
Windows 10 is better than windows 8 because windows 10 providing the latest features of windows but windows 8 is not providing.
Since Windows 10 arrived, there have been two major releases: the Anniversary Update (July 2016) and the Creators Update (April 2017). These are free and both brought new features and improvements.

@muditva,
Windows 10 is much better then windows 8
With Windows 10 in preview, and Microsoft and its users testing the new operating system, InformationWeek is looking at the differences between Windows 8 -- which has struggled to find a market in much the same way that Windows Vista did -- and Windows 10, which Microsoft (as well as the entire PC industry) is betting on to reinvigorate the market. Here's a look at the key differences between the two operating systems, as well as things all levels of IT should know to help make decisions about and prepare for an upgrade down the line.
