@Real Music,
Impossible to answer question.

Maybe top 10 movies per decade and i might have a chance of answering.

Here's my top 10 movies from the 80's, in no particular order.

Blade Runner (1982)
Aliens (1986)
The Thing (1982)
Scarface (1983)
Platoon (1986)
The Terminator (1984)
Once upon a time in America (1984)
Predator (1987)
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)
Die Hard (1988)

I could have picked another dozen, so many.
Ferris, Blues Bro's, Caddy and on & on.

I say again, impossible question.

Haven't had a chance to ponder this question. I ditched my top 100 favorite films of all time list awhile back because it was a tad out of date. Haven't taken the opportunity to update it.

I'll just drop a preliminary top 10 here until my official list has been thoroughly investigated and birthed at a later undetermined date.

Until then? a2k will have to hold its collective breaths.

I'm looking forward to see what movies you will narrow down to your 10 favorites.

No. Not really. Just trying to have fun. It's fun comparing my list, your list, and everyone else's list. Comparing the differences is fun. Comparing the similarities is fun. Who knows, some of us may decide to see one of these movies that pop up on someone's list. You never know. Just having fun. Smile

It was fun challenging myself to pick my 10 favorite movies from all the many movies I've seen and enjoyed over many years. The actual fun comes from the challenge. If it were easy to narrow it down to 10, that wouldn't be fun. It's fun because it's difficult and it forces me to really think. In fact it is very possible that I might remember a movie or movies and might have to add while simultaneously deleting movies from list. The list don't have to be permanent. A person's list can be changed and modified. That also adds to the fun.

@Real Music,
OK, another 10

No time for Sergeants
MontyPython and the Holy Grail (many of us can quote lines and others recognize)
This is Spinal Tap
The Lady Killers (the 1955 version with Alec Guinness, Herbert Mom, Peter Sellers)
The Russians are Coming, the Russians are Coming
Porky's (I really wish I didn't like this movie, but it made me laugh)
The Blues Brothers
Smokey and the Bandit
MASH
Catch-22

Not all of the movies stand the test of time, but I did enjoy them

@coluber2001,
I checked out the Toby Stephens version of Jane Eyre last night. He’s by far the best Rochester. Wonderful production.

After considerable pondering, musing, and thinking, I've decided to replace Rear Window with Modern Times (yes, a silent, black and white film).

To Kill a Mockingbird
Babe
The Wizard of Oz
The Godfather
Patton
Blazing Saddles
The Thin Man (the whole series)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Modern Times
Breaking Away
