This is going to be a really horrid few questions, but a few people and I got into a discussion last night that led to the following uncertainties: What is the legal difference between molestation and rape? Also, what would define "rape"? One person in the conversation last night said that something is rape if there's sexual penetration, and someone else asked if inserting a finger would be considered rape, because she believed that assaulting someone with a foreign object was considered rape.
Nobody really knew the answers, and we didn't want to look into it further for fear of looking like a bunch of perverts or rapist-wannabes who wanted to find a legal loophole. In fact, it's just mere curiosity! I was wondering if someone on these boards could clear it up. I know it's a gruesome subject; sorry.
