Hello! I'm looking for a movie which I think came out in the time period 2005-2008. It involves a variety of characters, each with some kind of weapon or power, entering a high rise building for the seeming purpose of carrying out a kind of violent task. And each one of them, if I remember correctly, essentially fails. Now, what and why they undertook this venture, I just cannot say. But I very badly want to know the title of this movie. It seemed offbeat, yet not completely implausible. There was one particular character whose capabilities/weapons seemed practically unbeatable, and we later see him utterly mangled. Please, if you could, by my admittedly sketchy description, name the movie!

Although this may be a bit older - Some of this almost sounds like Toy Story 2. The characters (a variety of toys) sneak into a high rise building (this is the apartment building where the man that stole Woody lives and where he is keeping his secret collection of toys (including Woody).
The one particular character is practically unbeatable Zurg does seem unbeatable - they end up defeating him in the end a- I am not sure if he in mangled in the end.
Although I do not remember the toys carrying weapons into the building - they could likely have been carrying some.
I might be far reaching but that was the first thing I pictured when you said a variety of characters entering a high rise building.

I just checked Toy Story 2, it's definitely not the one. The movie I'm referring to, is not animated. And it is plausible, with a bit of a reach! Thanks for the response though.

so it is real people when I heard characters - I thought animated.
It is a fun story nevertheless.

Yes, I want to emphasise the characters in the movie are real flesh and blood people. They do possess sophisticated weapons or capabilities( but they are not superheroes). Thanks.
