@ehBeth,
Looks like a high-scoring week. Practically everyone had all the evening fixtures correct except for those of us that picked the Titans (and one idiot that picked the 49ers).

I don’t appreciate the Saints sitting practically all their first team players. Surprised Rolling Eyes

@panzade,
That is what makes the last few games even harder to guess correctly. A stab in the dark at best.

A little late this week, what with the holiday and all, but we have a weekly winner and a season winner to announce. For the week, Lightning22 pulls it out with 14 wins. Several of us had 13. So unless my cohort tells me I am wrong, congrats to Lightning.

However, it was not enough to keep Jaumen from repeating as our overall champion. Here is the final tally, pending review.

Once again, it has been an enjoyable time picking games with everyone this year. Thanks everyone.

Jaumen 0.660 169 87

@CoastalRat,
Looking good, CR!

Congratulations, jaumen, on a successful defense of your title.

I see that my man Rhys came in 10 wins ahead of me. I'll be hearing about
that for a while.

Congrats Jerry. It took me 17 weeks, but I finally got a weekly win. Figured these teams out a little too late this year.

@CoastalRat,
Sorry to report that there might be an error. However, I’m not sure if it’s with last week’s loss column or this week’s. This week’s total in the loss column seems to be off by 16 losses (too many). So if the total should be 254 possible point at season”s end, there’s a problem with prior loss total.

We should be at 254total points, right?

I’m sure you guys will work it out.

Congratulations to Jaume and Lightning for your respective wins.
Thanks to all who made the contest fun on both sides of the playing and administrating.

On to the playoffs and SB.

@Ragman,
I may be a bit wrong about total of losses. For example, when I compute my loss total it seems to be off by 16 in the loss column from LAST week. Furthermore, more proof of this is that even though I did better guessing 13 out of 16 this week, my percentage actually went down.

In retrospect, the disparity with the total match points being 254 or 256 can be accounted for depending on how the ties are awarded (or not rewarded). For example the NFL online pickers get 254 points as they didn't count the ties (I think) so that gets the a total of possible points at 254.

Thanks everyone. Never thought I’d win once, let alone 2 straight years. I guess I got lucky twice. Maybe I can get lucky 3 straight years? 😉. Anyway, on to the playoff picks.

@Ragman,
Should be a total of 256 total possible wins. I counted ties as losses. I will have to go back and compare last week's posted results to this week's to see what/where there is confusion, but it does appear that the wins plus losses equals 256 for most players. (There were instances where someone missed getting the Thursday game in on time, so their totals will not add to 256.)

It looks like when I posted last week's results, I did so before I had put the total games picked by each player into my spreadsheet, which reduced the losses by 16 since my formula to compute losses is simply Games Picked - Wins. So the wins the previous week would have been correct. Hope that makes sense.

@CoastalRat,
Yup. I think it only affected the week 16 and its losses total...not the relative positions. The percentages for only that week seem to have been inflated. With the correct totals entered in week 17, it all got straightened out. No one suffered (or benefited) as a result of this problem. No bodies and no carnage resulted.

The week 17 and finals all make sense now. I think we did better overall as a group than we did last year. Yay team! Good year of watching NFL, too. Lots of surprises and turnover of perennial top-tier teams like Packers, Pats and Steelers and the progress of the Browns.

I noticed this quite by accident when I saw some percentages drop in Week 17 when they should have increased. Thanks for responding and clearing this up so well. You’ve both done fantastic jobs!
