The Sun I Seek
We all live
We all die
But for me
I must decide whether to have loved or lied
before I die
I have to have the fire of my eye
Which will inspire my desire
as my heart and mind conspire
to pump blood through my body's wires
creating winds that blow the
spiritual brushfires
turn mortals into vampires
and I hope this transpires
before the sun expires
but I have given up
my solitary search of
that certain sunrise on this somber September.
I have given up on my horizontal desires
replaced by vertical tragedies
I breath in bromides
and I release oxides
I am neither here nor there
but my echoes are everywhere
Most of my life I have tried
to use words to converse
and when I used my hearts beats
it was only perverse for when I was
grabbing the corners of moons in an effort to reach the stars
I only fell in between moods counting the soul's scars
And if on this somber September
The sun seeks to give advice
It will find everyone sleeping
except I.
The cycles return,
don't they?
Grasping, letting go,
burning, sitting,
breathing, pausing, ...
sleeping awake.
