708 - 634 - 29 + 15
This pandigital expression (presence of all digits
from 0 -> 9, once and only once) is = 60 ... and
needs 60 letters to be written in french :
Sept cent huit.............= 12
moins........................= 5
six cent trente-quatre = 19
moins........................= 5
vingt-neuf..................= 9
plus...........................= 4
quinze........................= 6
.............................-----------
....................................60
(published today by P. Coilland on fr.rec.jeux.enigmes)
60 seems to be a minimum in french: what about in your
own language: English, german, Dutch, Swedish, etc.
(use only numbers, "plus" and "minus" -- no parenthesis,
no multiplication or division signs, etc.)
American = 57
Dutch = 114
Chinese = 3127
Sedam stotina i osam = 17
Minus = 5
Sest stotina trideset i cetiri = 26
Minus = 5
Dvadeset i devet = 14
Plus = 4
Petnaest = 8
Croatian = 79
that was official - in common talk:
Sedamsto osam = 12
Minus = 5
Sesto tris cetri = 14
Minus = 5
Dvajs devet = 10
Plus = 4
Petnejst = 8
total = 58
MYO can you add the sum too, my Croatian is not
so good. :-)
I did, didn't I? Or some other sum?
57 seems like a reasonable lower bound, but I haven't gotten there. Here's 59:
Code:65 + 47 + 39 - 82 - 10 = 59
sixty-five 9
plus 4
forty-seven 10
plus 4
thirty-nine 10
minus 5
eighty-two 9
minus 5
ten 3

MYO, I mean the translation in numbers of
Sedam stotina i osam - Sest stotina trideset i cetiri -
Dvadeset i devet + Petnaest
MYO, I mean the translation in numbers of
Sedamsto osam - Sesto tris cetri -
Dvajs devet + Petnejst
oh that...well I used your numbers, I got you wrong
I suppose you ask sum where number of letters is same as final sum?
got you wrong in that case, silly me (smashing my head).
oh, cool, I see try didn't understand it neither.
I feel better now
