Absolutely correct. Here's the explanation:
The sequence is actually in a basic numeral code with the numbers 1-26 representing the letters A-Z respectively. The only complication was that they were in Roman numerals. The number in brackets indicate the sum of the numbers before the brackets added altogether, and were provided to help you separate the Roman numerals correctly.
The actual sequence is a simple one regarding the first 5 letters of the Greek Alphabet, namely, Alpha, Beta, Gamma (missing word), Delta and Epsilon.
