I do have one, however, in order to serve the cause,
one should buy it directly from Lance Armstrong's
website http://www.laf-store.org/

Any "variations" that you might see are fakes. They are commercial products, sold for the profit of the manufacturer. If you want to buy the bracelets to support cancer research, only get them from the Armstrong foundation.

When I gave blood last month, the Red Cross folks gave me a red
bracelet of that type. It read "GIVE BLOOD + SAVE LIVES".

That's something else. The bracelet was the Red Cross' way of saying, "Thank you" That's fine. But you didn't pay for it.

You're exactly right Phoenix. This was certainly no attempt to rip off the
lance Armstrong foundation.

The ARC often passes out t-shirts or other "thank you" stuff.

Well I bought one from Hot Topic not too long ago and the money is going to go to buying instruments for underpriveleged kids.

Are you sure pink?
The Lance Armstrong Foundation will contribute the
proceeds from the bracelets to Cancer Research. Buying
the bracelts somewhere else would defeat the cause.
Why wear one, if not for the legitimate cause it was intended
for in the first place.

Oh so sorry! I didn't make myself clear at all! It was a different bracelet entirely! I meant I bought one of the variations! Mine is black and says "MUSIC = LIFE"

I think that what has happened is that the "me too-ers" gave jumped on the fad bandwagon. Right now, rubber bracelets are "hot". In some cases the bracelets are related to a charity. In others it is a purely commercial venture.

I think that the important point is that consumer should know what he is buying, before he plunks down his cash.

As part of a PBS segment on Charity Bracelets several kids from a high school in California were interviewed. They were all proud about the number of colored bracelets they had accumulated, but had very little idea what charities were representated.

This gives "do good by stealth" a new dimension.

Well, as long as they contribute to a good cause,
it's not entirely necessary to know the charities in
particular. It would be a good idea though, to
buy it from the charity directly instead of from ebay,
or other vendors.

I want a bracelet that says :
"Why are you spending the money on making bracelets instead of using it to help people ?"

Or one that says :
"I'm being pimped as a political whore in the charity popularity stakes."

Where are those bracelets I wonder ?

My favorite variation has to be the "Drink Strong" bracelet. Drunk They are available in like 5 or 6 colors. They are like $4 each tho unless you buy in bulk.

Over here in the UK, we have at least 20 different types of wristbands being sold, mainly with the profits going to charity.
Examples are :
British Heart Foundation
Anti Bullying
Stop Poverty
Anti Racism etc

Well, hi Very Happy Sorry, but I want to ask one question about that bracelet - can you (or anybody) say please, how much costs the shipment from Lance Armstrong shop to Switzerland, Germany and Russia.

Best wishes,
The end

The end, welcome to A2K.

When you fill out the shipping address information on the Lance Armstrong site, it will figure out the shipping cost for you before you place the final order. It was $5.51 to ship 10 bracelets to Paris with the International Parcel option, for example. It will cost more if you choose the "International Expedite Service".

Danke Smile Thank you for the answer. Frankly saying, there is such a point: for some people it's interesting all about such a bracelet and all information about this. If somebody can speak German or even lives in Germany, may be he can watch here MGFC forum and can give them some advise, or something? Would be gratitude to you, people.

Thank you,
The end.
