If you can work like a machine
Never stop and never tire
If you can start off with a spark
And finish with the biggest fire
Or walk a thousand miles
Without feeling a single ache
You might think you are safe in this world
That your heart may never break
When you've got money to your name
You feel like a better man
When there is nothing, on the other hand
You're just another grain of sand
Well, time's running out again
The ending's always just the same
You sit there thinking who to blame
When you should hop on another train
Time to win it
Time to take it all
And all you have to do is take a step or take a fall
If there is wisdom in these words
It's not that I didn't try
But if there's a line to spark a smile
Or pass even the smallest trial
Then nothing has gone to waste
And after all I lean on taste
It's sometimes really hard to see
But I feel my life is living me
Hmmm reminds me of that poem by.... o pants that's gonna annoy me now! I want to say Rudyard Kipling for some reason

I only have the opposite version that somebody wrote called the other if... but i do like it
AWE INSPIRING
I think your first two stanzas were outstanding,,,, have you read kipling's IF, that has a similar structure. I strongly advise you to read it, it might make you even betterer!
Thanks for lightening the dark crevaces where not even time seems heal
