Sad When I open IE to view my website none of my animations work.
However, other people can see my animations from their computer. Plus I am able to see them using A CompuServe browser. I have tried every fix Microsoft has suggested and more and still have the problem. I was hoping that someone may know what I can do to fix this problem.

ReAnimation Problem Running Internet Explorer 6 in WinXP SP1
Hi Don77,
I have posted new software but the problem existed even before I installed the software. And I am runnning version IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2 but my I am using sp1 and have no clue if this is the problem because I reinstalled IE 6 for sp1 and it still shows the same version as above. And I am using WinXP Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp2.040919-1003:Service Pack 1

Hi again Fran,
SP2 is the current patch for IE. If you have that installed thats fine,

Do you have your settings set properly ?

With Internet Explorer open,, Click Tools-->Internet Options, Click Advanced, Scroll down and look for " Play Animations in Web Pages and make sure it is Checked

Another thought here Fran - if you have add-blocking software or use certain firewalls (ZoneAlarm comes immediately to mind, though others have similar features), that could prevent animations from functionin' too - if either fits your situation, consult the app's documentation and check the settin's and permissions - generally, they can be adjusted on a site-by-site basis; in other words, a given site can be given permission for animation while others remain blocked. Bear in mind that in most forums, lotsa animations - things like smileys in particular - are not hosted on the forum, but are hotlinked from elsewhere; right-click on the affected animation, select "Properties", note the actual url of that animation, and add the parent site to your "Allowed" list.

Hi Timberlandko,
You were right on the money. I had animations blocked in my Zone Alarm Pro customized options. Thank you so much for leading me to this situation with your repsonse to my problem.
