For folks of a certain age, just saying "1968" releases a flood of memories.
I was looking at a list of songs from that year and, strangely, this is the one
that jumped out at me.

Yes. It was used as background or tone-setting for a tampon advertisement.

Before they went all disco on us, the Bee Gees were your basic pop band. I used to hear this on the juke box at the student union where I worked in 1968.
