"I think it was a Tuesday, but it was long ago.
My tho'ts don't keep good track of dates no more.
A july day with dew in early morning-
A walk in sunbeams playing crost the floor.
I kept account of Tuesdays, seems I remember
The train would be on my track by that night.
I never cared what sundry trails he wailed on,
Just so I'd know on Tuesdays, He'd be back.
It didn't come to much, these little outings...
I ran too far and stayed too late most times.
My cherished daydreams, whispered nothings
Squeezing, almost hourly- into silly rhymes.
It wasn't like the train had other choices.
There was the track, and on it wheels will roll.
The choice was MINE... and often I just wonder-
Why was I oh so willing to meet the toll?
That train was speedy, careless, hard and dark cold-
Just flashing on a light of warmth to trick me.
I'd run beside him smiling like a hungry chile
So he'd slow a bit and let me ride for free.
But you know what they say 'bout sumpin for nuthin,
It ain't never what it's cracked up to be.
A more of times than I will even own up too-
That cold train aimlessly ran over me."
And I just looked into her old eyes, knowing.
It was a memory she has long endured.
I pat her on her knee and whisper, OH Nana
I am so glad now, you are cured.
"Cured chile? what is cured? I live it ever' day.
That ol' train just comes at will, a'whistlin' all the way.
Until his wheels all fall to rust and all the cross ties turn to dust
That ol' train will haul his lust.... til dooms day."

That is great! It reads like it took alot of work, and it sure payed off. I was wondering when you would be writing again, now I know what I was waiting for! Thanks, I enjoyed it muchly!

Yeah, it has been brewing awhile.

I have been on a great exercise and reducing program which is consuming a lot of my time. I feel healthier, though. Don't know if it will improve my writing... hahahahahahahahaha, I do like to come read at times... I just have to do it in a hurry. Of course, I pick out people like sufp- edgarb- colorbook. letty etc, etc. to check out their latest.
