We in the U.S. are backwards. What the rest of the world calls football, we call "soccer". But you know what I meant, Izzie.

We call it soccer too. It won't be called football until the people playing it begin to act like men.

My daughter starts school early these days which means we have to get up
super early, but at least we are rewarded with a beautiful sunrise every morning.

One of our nephews likes to play football ("soccer").
Yesterday they had training and afterwards - as usual - a little training match.
Nephew tried to get the ball with his head. Unfortunately, the ball was very close to the ground ... and his opponent was trying to hit it the normal way: with his foot.

The coach (with is my SIL and his mother) had to drive him to the surgery in the ophthalmic hospital (which is in the neighbour city: the ophthalmologist on late day/night duty in their city didn't operate in his praxis):



He's doing fine, isn't sure, though, if he wants to go to the training tomorrow. He's only sad that this happened during the autumn holidays since otherwise he could stay either at home or be an attraction at school.
(But he didn't want to get a new coach )

OUCH> Oh poor little guy.
I remember when Jillian split her eye lid apart, she looked a lot like that. Though her stitches were across her eyelid and not the brow.

It has been a really nice day for (window!) shopping and having a coffee, plum flan with whipped cream at a street café and such a view ...

Those village scenes always make me homesick for Germany, Walter.

Ouch. I hope your nephew has learned to use his feet for those low balls, Walter.

Well, it's actually a larger city (in German terms) - 330,000 inhabitants live in Bielefeld

At least he'll do so when (better: IF) playing the next match Sunday morning ...
