Thanks! Smile Yes, I have taken all the sunset photo's I've posted here and there. It's a bit of a hobby now. Some day maybe I can get one of those fancy shmancy camera's and take some REALLY good shots... of lots of things... people... sunsets... nature.... heh... The full moon on the water is my next goal... but I need a different camera to pull it off. Razz

Walter, I've seen some of these people in Kaiserslautern some time ago. They are great!

Treya, wonderful pictures. Where are you in Florida?

And I love Hamburger's picture!

sunsets on and near the ocean are probably my favourire ones .
this one is "pre-digital" , taken aboard the SS. ROTTERDAM sailing from the panama canal towards the netherland antilles - willemstad , curacao .

it was saturday , dec . 16 , 1995 and the report from the bridge said
"sunset 6:29 pm" - couldn't be more precise .

i like the contrast between the just barely visible sun , the sky , the gentle ocean waves , the dark outline of the twin-stacks and the faint smoke coming from the funnel .
i had climbed through a hatch to the highest point accesible to passengers and just reached the tiny platform as the sun was about to disappear - five minutes later the sun was gone .

Speaking of "light":

we have been to to a toen in the neighbourhoos, Paderborn, today:

Quote:
Between May and September of this year,
Paderborn, a historical Bishop's seat, will turn
into a public art space. Twelve internationally
renowned artists investigate the obvious and
hidden festures of worldly and clerical power
and develop project ideas that bring the
various structures to light.

In the St. Bartholomew Chapel (the oldest hall church north of the Alps, built about 1000 by Greek worksmen) is an interesting light-sound installation (the chapel is famous for itÄs accustics).

I tried to get at least a little impression of those lights ...

You see that chapel here in the background. In the foreground, the church bell, is a "roundabout".
And those angles ...

It is so interesting to see all the different places we have been to.

Walter, I know nothing about Paderborn - but I love those angels!

And the statue, CJ. That thing is big!

rosborne, is this something the town puts up every year? Must be great
for the kids.

shewolf, I also think that you're looking better now, but red is definitely
a good color for you, and a few highlightes would brighten your face
even more so.

thanks. Smile

I actually DID go out and buy some color.

I am getting grey at my temples so , Im thinking of replacing that with some light blonde. Maybe not as heavy of a contrast as I did in the picture, but enough...

If not light blonde, then maybe a rich red/brown color.
A few shades lighter then my own..
