It's gone! I printed the desktop to be sure.
I also rebuilt the desktop. I can't select it from the menu bar either. How do I get it back, so I can throw away and delete files?

(If deleteing a file is urgent (probably not), you can use "rm" command in the Terminal program on Mac OS X.)
Hi, actually I'm still on OS9 but it was a false alarm.
