The head of the Current Triad is the "Dragonhead". The last positioned in the United States was Johnny Kon. Johnny claims to have no affiliation with Triad now, as he resides in California. The Triad is much weaker in the United States from a visual perspective. A lot of the lower end crime is actually taken on by immitation break off groups like the AE gang in NYC. The owner of Yello Restaurant in Chinatown (NYC) is the former head of this group. I'm sure he can give you a better perspective on the organization, than myself. The unique thing about the Chinese Triad is they arent under 1 central organized point. In a sense there is no Chinses Triad, there is United Bamboo, or 14k, or other organizations. But kind of like a company, if you own 60% of GM, you own the entire company in regards to decision making and income.
As you know Triad started with the Heroin trade. But in actuallity it wasnt really unethical. The English forced China to trade with them heroin, even though the Chinese declared it immoral and said it wouldnt trade or use the heroin. Thats when teh English sent over ships and forced it upon China.
There is a very high ranking head in Philadelphia at this time, he goes by the name Rennie. I don't live in the states right now, but I visit on occassion.
