On a perfect day she stands,
Fronds a rustle,
Sand of strand.
She looks toward ocean
Wrinkled blue,
Reflecting sky of azure hue.
Her small hand lifted to shade
eyes,
That search for glimpse of emerald rise.
The dress she wears is bright,
But fades, as moon and distance
Dim the stage.

Within her soul sings banshee's keen
But tempered with the shamrock green,
She listens to her Irish dream.
