How to Remove those Computer Marks << Swiftly & Ef

Sometimes I get an E Mail that has computer markings (<<) before each line. If I want to forward it to someone, (especially when it is a GOOD joke), I don't like to send it with the markings.

Often, I will remove each mark by highlighting and deleting at each start line. Unfortunately, I have never learned how to delete vertically. If I start to play around with deletion, the text gets involved, so it is easier to delete manually.

IS there a more efficient way to accomplish this?

Also, do you know why those marks show up sometimes?

Gee I thought I'd be the only one up all night (I'm installing a cool feature fishing suggested).

The markings (>>) show up to denote the text that is being forwarded.

The easiest way to get rid of them involves only a few keystrokes regardless of how many markings.

Open notepad or word or wordpad.

Then go to your email and press Ctrl A (selects all)

Then go to notepad or whatever and press Ctrl V (pastes)

Then press Ctrl H (find and replace)

In the find input area tpe in >> (or whatever you want removed)

Leave the replace blank.

Click replace all and you are ready to copy the text (sans markings) back to the email you want to send.

edit: fixed typos

Darn I noticed that your titles are getting cut off. I need to fix that. If I don't do it tomorrow please remind me.

No problem Phoenix!

The find and replace function is something that many are unaware of but it comes in handy for webdesigners. I used it many times this last night.

I am knackered (haven't slept yet) but now I have to stay up and wait for a visitor because my friend isn't here to entertain him! Grrr.
