I am running WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION on an AMD 2400+ System with WINDOWS XP running on a 40Gb Primary (C:\) FAT32 Drive, and various media files stored on a 120Gb Slave (Z:\) NTFS Drive.

I currently have over 70Gb free on my NTFS (Z:\) Drive, and about 20Gb free on my FAT32 (C:\) Drive.

After hearing that there may be problems with using "convert C: /fs:ntfs", what I would like to be able to do is to copy all the files from My Primary (C:\) FAT32 Drive onto a folder in my Slave (Z:\) NTFS Drive, then Format my Primary (C:\) FAT32 Drive to NTFS, then move the files back from the folder on the Slave (Z:\) NTFS Drive onto the Newly Formatted Primary (C:\) NTFS Drive, and then be able to continue running WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION without having to actually re-install the whole damn thing from scratch.

Could it possibly be as simple as this, or am I likely to cause myself horrendous problems by trying it.

Is it likely that WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION will not work if I simply copy all the files to another disk, format the original disk, and then copy them back again.

I've definitely got plenty of space on my 120Gb NTFS Drive to be able to backup all of the contents of my 40Gb FAT32 Drive, so having enough space is not a problem.
I also have the following programs installed and running and am wondering if there might be problems with them after the above procedure :----

1). Norton SytemWorks 2005

2). ZoneAlarm V 5.5

3). Spywareguard V 2.2

4). SET@home GUI Cient with SETIgate

5). Diskeeper Pro V 9

6). TweakXP pro V 4

&7). A whole bunch of software such as SpyBot S&D, CWShredder, SpywareBlaster, Ad-Aware SE, SpySubtract & Stinger, etc, etc............

I would be very grateful if somebody could advise me about this. Have you successfully done the same sort of thing, or has the attempt knackered you or your system.

Please let me know.....
Thanks in advance for your responses......
