It seems my computer gets slower and slower the later at night it is. In the morning, afternoon, and up until about 11 PM, it's okay. As it gets later, it slows down more and more. By 2 AM, it will barely load certain sites, and won't load some at all. Even if I reboot, it doesn't seem to help. (Note: It doesn't slow down offline). What's going on? Could this have anything to do with my ISP? Or is it simply past my computer's bedtime, and it's overtired????
The speed you experience when Online will often depend on other users accessing the Internet through the same ISP. Bear in mind that the Internet is a Global Phenomenon, and you'll realise that certain times in the day correspond to Peak Usage Times in different countries. In other words, in the middle of the night, when half of the UK is asleep, the other side of the world is wide awake and using their PCs on the internet. Hope this explains things.
I've noticed this too, late at night, when I try to log into the insomniacs anonymous site.
Thanks for your replies. I also posted this question on another forum. Besides the varying traffic due to differences in time zones, here are some more possibilites: "Some ISP's cut their bandwith late night or have a cap during the day.... which slows the speed as it's shared with all others. Holding down costs.
It's probably more the website. Same story. Cost cutting in the past 2 years have websites capping their bandwidth, limiting users, and some cut it in off-peak hours..."
