@margo,
Nope Margo - it's a real thing. Blessedly limited release.

Very much a case of:

That's bad....apparently the organisms responsible would normally never be at those latitudes. More evidence of ocean warming and consequent disturbed ecosystems.

@hingehead,
Read this today in a copy of The Camel's Toe, I picked up at a car boot. Enjoy, or get really angry or ignore it.

@hingehead,
phew

I was a bit worried when I started on that ... thinking it was a miracle that Margo and I managed to communicate at all. By the 60's things got a bit more familiar.

@hingehead,
That made me laugh, although there were quite a few words in there that I've never heard before.
And I can think of a lot more commonly used words that should have been included - bogan, smoko, servo, just to name a few.

@cherrie,
Servo was in there - but you're right bogan and smoko deserved a run.

I knew gammon, but a few of the other aboriginal ones I didn't and they used the 'wrong' one for kids - who will always be djamarrkuḻi (pronounced jamakooli) to me yolgnu matha style.

You're right - servo was there. I don't know how I missed that. Drunk

Quite a lot there, probably more than half, I've never heard of, also...

But, I've only lived here all my life, so far!

@hingehead,
We used to either wag off school, bunk off school, or "play hooky".

'Wag' over here also refers to 'wives and girlfriends' in relation to sports stars, mainly footballers.

The Wags are often papped by the press whilst out shopping for designer handbags, etc.

Thought I'd hang around and watch my post for a minute, as when I arrived to read this page, the bottom half of the posts had all been voted down to zero.
I duly put you all up a point to counteract Ionanist, and then made my 'wag' post.
Having renewed it with the refresh button several times over about thirty seconds, it predictably got clicked down to zero.

Your fellow Australian doesn't just hate non Australians, it would seem.

At least he demonstrates a sense of equality when it comes to his childishness.

Dipshit.

@Lordyaswas,
I didn't realise it was Anus - I've had him on ignore for years. He's such a WAFTAM.

The indiscriminate thumbing down amuses me immensely - it's such an admission of impotence.
