I remember when we could only afford it at Christmas - and maybe Easter!

Now - at least weekly...

I suppose the rest of you, all over Oz, were busy working today? Wink

@Dutchy,
You did it again! Surprised
You got some insider information beforehand, Dutchy? Wink Smile
How much did you win, if it's OK to ask? (Probably not OK. Don't answer that if you'd prefer not to, OK?)
Looked a very close finish to me!

@msolga,
Indeed msolga it was a close finish, won by a nose, but that's enough Smile I'm only a small punter and had $5 each way, and collected $59.00. Will have another small bet on my son's horse "Japan" running at Port Lincoln tomorrow, that is inside information. Laughing

@Dutchy,
Still, a great excuse to dine out at your favourite restaurant, Dutchy.
Enjoy it! Smile
Your son owns a racehorse!
Now that should be an exciting, nail-biting experience for you tomorrow!
Go Japan! Very Happy

@msolga,
You know what those Tuna people are like in Port Lincoln, after Tony Santic won 3 Melbourne Cups with Makybe Diva a few years back they all wanted a racehorse, son races this one with a couple of friends just to have an interest. By the way Japan won its last race 2 weeks ago, so should have a good chance again tomorrow.

@Dutchy,
No, I'm a bit in the dark about the Port Lincoln tuna people, Dutchy.
I am relying on you to be my main source of information. Smile
But if Japan is related to you, via family connection, I will be hoping Japan wins! I'm biased.

@msolga,
I think this could well happen if they keep that Irishman Joyce at the helm, I think the share-holders can do us all a favour by booting him back where he came from.

@Dutchy,
I don't think the "ordinary" shareholders own enough of the Qantas shares to do that, Dutchy, even if that's what most wanted to do.
As for Joyce, I think he received his huge bonus specifically for the purpose of eliminating Australian union conditions & taking the company offshore.
Forget about the Qantas "brand". It is gone.
Along with the previously held unblemished safety record. Which was gone already, anyway. "Qantas" won't be able to trade off that much longer, because it will be blatantly obvious that that it no longer applies. It is gone already, to anyone who's been paying attention.
It is an entirely different company now. It's a corporation.
Very sad to see, I agree.
