Nice shot of the superjumbo flying over Sydney. It really is a stunning city, isn't it?

I liked Adelaide.

You have to love a city with a 5-minute peak hour! (but then - that was 30 years ago!) Has it changed any?

I like Melbourne, too - I have friends there, but the weather gives me the heeby-jeebies. And there's certain value in baiting MsOlga - who bites with surprising regularity.

But I live in Sydney! Smile

And Brisbane you can keep!

Alas margo the "twenty-minute city" is now a myth and the rush "hour" is now almost a real hour, as in sixty minutes. And they call it progress Very Happy

We need another thread - "what do you like about each of Australia's capital cities?" There's a lot to like about each one of them.

Hey well done, the Socceroos!

I did not see it mentioned on any other thread (though it probably was) and so I wanted to add my congratulations!

Scotland didn't get through this time, so I'll have to support Oz. And England, of course.

On the World Cup - people here are saying that soccer is now spelled F-O-O-T-B-A-L-L - of course when our footy season comes around next winter there will be a hell of a row over it Very Happy

Yes, I heard a very serious, involved discussion to that effect on the ABC today, gf. "Surely, now, soccer deserves to be called football!"
