Aggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Shocked Sad Mad Confused Surprised Shocked

I just got home after watching the game on my friend's big teev .. humongous screen!

I feel as though I've been through a wringer!

I'm not sure my aged noives are up to a repeat of this next week. Really! (Too many excruciating memories & flashbacks to hideous childhood finals & grand finals. You heart-breakers, Collingwood! )

And as all maggies supporters know, a drawn game is A BAD OMEN! <sob>

Ha ha, I am not just a Saints supporter I am a proud member and go to as many games as I can. I used to hate footy with a passion as much as i love it now. If We can get tickets for next week we will be there.

The AFL should have brought on some independants (from rural areas) to break the deadlock.

Your wish is my command msolga. Must tell you though, collected $260 today, my winnings from having backed Judd at 25/1 last Monday. Laughing

@Dutchy,
I didn't know you were a better, Dutchy ... Surprised
A not-always-spot-on tipster, I already knew about that! Wink

Anyway, enjoy your winnings. A few extra $$$ can never go astray, I always say.

Have you heard from your son in Melbourne? How did he enjoy the game? He's probably needing a good lie down after that! What a finish!

@msolga,
Well you'll learn everyday msolga, I'm only a small punter on special occasions, I thought Judd at 25/1 was worth a small wager ($10)

Have not heard from son. They have two 40th birthdays to celebrate tonight so I don't think he'll surface until late tomorrow. They are staying at the Crown Casino and those Tuna boys know how to celebrate I can tell you Smile

@Dutchy,
This will be a Saturday he'll never forget, Dutchy!
It may take him some time to recover, too! Smile

Just before I go cook dinner (crossing my fingers that the noisy grandfinal get-together next door winds down very soon! They had the TV set up in the backyard for the game. Big party. But at least they were considerate enough to let me know in advance! Just the last remaining stragglers left, from what I can hear), here's the photograph from the front page of the AGE this evening. Says it all. :

@dlowan,
I was a Collingwood nut-case during most of my youth, Deb. And I regress at AFL final times. Without fail.
I hardly pay any attention at all during the season, then get grabbed by the throat again at times like today. Hard to explain, really.

I'm not crazy about AFL culture, but I think (at it's best) Oz Rules is a spectacular game to watch.

Besides, I live in Melbourne. Enough said? Wink

I've been following your travels via your thread. You've certainly covered some ground! I know you can't post much while you're traveling, but I'm really looking forward to hearing more about your impressions of Berlin, Paris & everywhere else (!) when you have the chance to write more.

Are you a wee bit homesick, I wonder? Or is it too short a time you've been away? I always felt a bit that way when I traveled.
