Thanks - isn't that panda a cutie.

I forgot to recharge the camera battery - so this is pretty much all I got of these apart from one fellow trying to poo!)

ps...note the bums on the lifeboat pic. The telephoto lens shows things that you can't see otherwise! Razz

@dadpad,
One group was practising running under, jumping over, then out to the water, and around 2 trainer-types standing there, and back to the beach. You can see one little fellow running out, and the two men standing in the water. Both boys and girls were in each group, differentiated by their cap colours. The hoops were for the blue-caps. Beside them are the yellow-caps, and on the right, red-caps. Not sure if the differentiation was by years or by skills.

Perhaps early athletics / flexibility training. They were only about 6 or 7 yo.

@msolga,
really good story, i knew there was more to it than just a simple tale, but hadn't heard it analyzed in that depth before

loved the snippets of the different versions as well, odd that they didn't touch on eric bogles "and the band played waltzing matilda", considering they played a bit of tom wait's tune "tom traubert's blues"

@djjd62,
I was listening while on the run to the first episode, djjd. Now that you've posted both, I can sit down & listen at my leisure. Thank you! Smile

You really shouldn't post Tom Waits & Eric singing songs like this in one go, you know.

You could make a person cry on a Monday morning. Smile

@msolga,
Ah. It wasn't Eric, it was the Pogues, djjd. (Not quite so debilitating. Wink )

Sat down & listened to part 1 & really enjoyed it. Will try to listen to part 2 later today.

Justice for Frenchy Hoffmeister, I say! Reconvene the case! We want answers & we want em now! Wink

I was thinking, as I was listening, what a fantastic job it'd be, to be a researcher for programs like that on RN.

Also that I should spend more time there, & less on my local ABC, obsessing about politics.

Anyway, thanks so much, a fascinating listen. You really like radio a lot, don't you?

I've really enjoyed the ones you've posted to A2K.

@msolga,
yup, i still read quite a bit, but in the last few years i've gotten into audio books as well, a good narrator is wonderful

i'd tried to read the harry potter books my nephews had, but couldn't quite get into them, then i heard stephen fry reading them, bam, instant love
