I killed the day.

I've heard that tomorrow never dies
But it does
Because I killed it

These fears and hopes
Dreams, loves, years gone by
All in a raging blur
I swallowed the time
Building life in this quicksand

I'm afraid I'm alone
Standing tall and shedding tears
Feeling like a child
Wanting to be asked
Looking for an invite
Looking for a way out

I find one in you
Can't be talked out
I go ahead and plunge deep
I feel less
I want more
I can't change it

The sun shows itself
Sickly smoky yellow 6AM
Entering the cracks
Filling up the room
Forgetting my head

Tomorrow comes
but memories aren't erased
Remorse is permanent
I start over again.

I killed the day.
