Problem on Windows

Can anyone tell me why I would just start having problems getting things to stay when in Windows mode. I mean I click on disk defrag or RUN or disk cleanup or anything while in windows and it just appears and disappears just as fast. I have run Adaware, Spybot, HijackThis and everything and fixed anything they found. But it is still doing it. It just started this today out of the blue. I have Win2000Pro. Doesn't affect me coming on to Explorer. I do still have a problem with Windows Installer that keeps trying to install Office even though I already have it. I was told I will just have to live with that popping up at every restart and just to keep hitting cancel when it pops up. Please help.

I cant think of anything off the top of my head, it certainly is a strange problem.

My only suggestion is to try reinstalling windows. First I would suggest backing everything up and just loading windows over the top of the current install. This way you shouldnt lose any data (backup just incase tho)

If this fails then rformat the hard disk and reload windows from scratch. This way you **will** lose data, and will need to re-install all your programs.

Sorry I cant be any more help...

OH no at least you have replied !!!!! Was getting tired of asking for help from this site because no one has even tried. Just thanks for your input. Yes I have talked to the guy who sold me the computer and am thinking of just getting him to put back Win98SE on here anyway. It's simplier and my kids can play their games on it and not mess up my computer. Since 2000 doesn't really do well with games. He said he could leave 2000 on and put the other back on and that way I could have a choice. I have ALOT of room for it too. And he will clear all that stuff off that I am having problems with. So thanks so much for answering. Have a good one!!!!
