SOL here I guess.
found a lot of stuff that I thought my other AV was supposed to be getting and noticed my PC running a bit faster, but still have the problem with my homepage being hijacked and everytime I open a page, spybot asked if I was my homepage to change from what I ask for to default.home (search page)

This is a good thing, However,

Dowload the following program
CWShredder
It should be the current version, but check for updates
Run Program cwshredder and have it fix anything it finds.
Make sure you click the "Fix" button

Restart your computer,
Next,

Please restart HJT put a check next to the following if they still exist, close all open windows and click "Fix Checked"

Restart your computer, Post back a fresh log please

Also you have 2 Anti Virus programs running, You should only be running 1 as this will likely cause you some conflicts as well.

fresh log
i did it all. seems better but when i opened IE, it came up with a blank screen, i clicked on internet options and the button would not work. nothing would work until i opened my favorites and clicked on a link. but now when I click to change my home page to MSN.com, spybot asks if I want to change from http://default.home to http://ehttp.cc/?www.msn.com. this makes no sense but I noticed in O13 it came up although i "fixed" it several times. it keeps coming back. just not everytime.

I think I got it
ok, i went into hijack this and fixed all the O18 hijacks and the ehttp problems and noticed whenever I opened IE the problems popped up again. so this last time i closed IE, fixed all the same problems and others that showed up using HJT and then going though the control panel i opened internet properties and changed the home page that way. now since i never opened IE with the bad page it seems perfectly fine.
thanks for all your assistance and I hope this extra step I learned can be passed on to others.

Yep need you to close all open windows when making fix's with HJT. As per instructions

Quote:
Please restart HJT put a check next to the following if they still exist, close all open windows and click "Fix Checked"

Glad it all worked out for you just the same Very Happy

Download the following programs, For keeping crap off your system to begin with
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Download Spyware Blaster and SpywareGaurd
Check for updates after you install them, And check weekly as well
Keep Ad-aware and Spybot handy, Check them for updates and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.

Remeber to Check Windows for updates

Probably a good time to create a new restore point See Here Name it clean or something like that,

Let us know if you have any further problems,
