Compression Agent?

What does it mean to compress files etc? Do I need to compress my c drive, not sure exactly what compression agent means. Can someone give me a site to go to to learn more about this?

Unless you are using a tremendous amount of your hard drive space, there is no reason to use disk compression. If a person downloads movies, or a lot of music, they might want to compress it.

I have a 16 GIG hard drive, which by today's standards is tiny. I have all sorts of programs on it, and I don't think that I have used 30% of the hard drive.

Welcome to a2k easternstar - I agree with Phoenix - I've heard compressing just isn't necessary anymore.

Don't mix up Compression with De-Fragmenting. If you use your computer a lot, its a good thing to Defragment it every now and then.
