Is it legal to use a Segway in New York City?
@engineer,
engineer-
Thank you, though when I click on your hyperlink I only get the google home page.
@Region Philbis,
Well, that was everything I needed to know. Maybe even a bit more.
@roger,
i'm just getting warmed up...
@Region Philbis,
Kind of reminded of the time I asked about kiwi fruits - you know, those hairy berries. If I had read all hingehead told me, I might still be reading.
Did you know the British guy who bought the Segway company died when he rode one of his machines 42 feet off a cliff? A coroner's inquest heard he probably died in an 'act of courtesy' after trying to make way for a dog walker.
@centrox,
I recall reading about that at the time. It convinced me those things just ain't safe.
Where I live we have trouble with dickweeds riding bicycles on the sidewalk (which is illegal) also those damn hoverboard things (also illegal on all public roads, sidewalks and footpaths) and so are Segways. The people riding them that I have seen on TV look like, well, pricks. Other people have been hurt or killed; a little kid was put in the hospital in Honolulu when a Segway-jerk ran into him.
@Sturgis,
Hah! Remember when President Bush tried one? He fell off - and another great promotion bites the dirt.
@roger,
It was quite funny watching.
