IF I buy win xp pro, is it good only for one coputer. I though that if it's just going to be used by me, I can install it on more than one computer, as long as i'm only using one computer at a time. But, let's say I lived with another person who needed to use a computer at the same time I did, then we would need two licenses.
Can somebody set me straight.
Microsoft Windows XP Professional End-User License Agreement:

Basically what it comes down to is that Windows XP Pro may only be installed on one single computer at any given time (so for example you can not install it on both your desktop & laptop at the same time), though as many people as you want can sit at & use the one computer. Additional stipulations include that it can be used only on a computer with no more than 2 processors (CPUs), & you may permit no more than 10 devices (computers or other electronic devices) to connect to it to use its resources at any one time.
Additionally, client computers--including those running WinXP Pro, of course--(legally) need licenses to access Windows Servers, but that is managed at the server level.
