They live on my property at 2000 meters in Colombia.

It would appear to be the Colombian Brown (Pamphobeteus fortis). Pretty impressive.

Like Paula, I just came by to see it. Now that my hair is standing on end, I'm going to go to bed and have nightmares now, lol.
If I ever found one of those on my property, I'd probably have a heart attack, which reminds me of why I live up north LOL!

Can you imagine falling asleep in a hammock in your backyard, and waking up with one of those crawling on you.

I like where I live.

The last place I saw a tarantula was at a small primarily aquarium but other displays too in Sweden. At the end was ayoung lady selling things. under a glass cubicle was a live tarantula. When I remarked on it she opened it and picked it up. As the spider strolled around her hand I asked if the poison sacs had been removed. She said no but it was almost impossible to get it to bite. She was not the slightest bit nervous. Nor was I as it was unlikely a grown adult in good health would not likely be seriously affected even if bitten.

Even if I knew I wouldn't be bitten, I STILL wouldn't want one touching me.

That bear is adorable.

Eight, Mr. Stillwater. Count 'em - eight, and much better than that python you were dragging around.

And there we have it folks, the voice of reason as channelled by our own paulaj. Big spider that probably only eats bugs is 'icky', genuine 9-foot tall man-eating f*cking grizzly-bear is 'adorable'. Stand by for others..

-great white shark = big-teef cutey!
-anaconda = big squeezee snake!
-600 lb Siberian tiger = big ol' fluffy cat!
-saltwater crocodile = bathtub toy
-hyena pack - funny ol' wobble-leg dogs!

-600 lb Siberian tiger = big ol' fluffy cat! YOU GOT ME THERE!
-saltwater crocodile = bathtub toy Wrong
-hyena pack - funny ol' wobble-leg dogs! Wrong

I hope this clears things up.

LOL Mr. Still. I've never seen a bear in the wild, nor have I ever seen the other things you mentioned.
