Does that worry you?
Doesnt worry me.
If you are a good person, this saying should make you feel good.
People dont neccessarily get what they deserve.
People get what they get. Thats it.
I took a marvellous course about 25 years ago. The Myth of the Just Society.
Like etruscia says, ya get what ya get .
How neat - found the instructor and the book he'd just published when I knew him.
The Belief in a Just World: A Fundamental Delusion (Perspectives in Social Psychology) Author: Melvin J. Lerner, 01 August, 1980
life sucks..then you die. end of story.

But do you define a person as good according to what he is getting, or do you have another criteria of defining good?
All the people that died in Asia with the tsunami, were bad? Jews deserved the Holocaust? The people of New York deserved the AlQuaeda massacre in September 2001?
Yeah, what goes around, comes around!
Polonius: My lord, I will use them according to their desert.
Hamlet: God's bodkins, man, much better; use every man after his desert, and who should 'scape whipping?
Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act II, Scene 2
A man in Houston was charged today with murder for pounding a 23 day old baby's head with a fist. Did the baby get what she deserved? She was being a nuisance, crying.
Yes the baby got what it deserved. So did the headbanger. Sounds cruel, but for all we know the kid was the next Hitler, or worse the next Bush.
Karma is what governs who gets what. This is determined by the self, but it goes over all the lives one soul lives, not just one. The baby must have done something in a previous life to get bashed. Maybe bashed one or two himself?
When I was just getting puberty my penis got what it deserved nightly if you follow that logic....

You can't be serious!!!
The tragic problem, Montana, is that he
is serious.
The "just world" theory which Cyracuz exemplifies, totally undermines the justice system. IF people got what they deserve, the justice system would be unneccessary, but of course . . .
People in no way, get what they deserve, they get what they get.
Putting you theory into the common language, in terms moralists use, misleads. You should seek other terminology to avoid misunderstanding - unless your purpose is to upset our sensibilities.
if your talking to me, what do you mean?
