I am trying to get my new video software to capture my movie off my camera. It gives me an error of

Data rate on C: is less then required rate of 4444Kbytes

What does this mean? My fire wire is about 5 years old maybe I need a new one?

It might be nescessary for you to update your IDE drivers ... but that's not real likely. Open Device Manager and see if your Primary IDE Channel is set to "DMA if Available". If you can set it to DMA, you should be fine. If not, then you're prolly lookin' at updatin' your drivers.

Before you go the update route, though, you might wanna uninstall your primary IDE Channel and reboot - the machine should find it and reinstall it from Windows, with DMA set.
