The Scoffer’s Pen

The Scoffer's Pen - Is -

Born of its own limitations;
Nourished on sewage agreements;
Strengthened by its own shadow;
- And -
Energized by the blood of innocents.

The Scoffer's Pen - Searches -

For fertile fields to corrupt;
For young, healthy plants to twist into thorns;
For fresh water to walk in then says, "Here. Drink this."
- And -
With filleting the shadows of its own jungle.

The Scoffer's Pen -

Rests in the glory of destroyed dreams;
Gathers its own lionized pride;
Washes itself clean - and is instantly filthy;
- And -

Its ink comes from the fangs of an asp.

This is an interesting piece. I liked it. Care to elaborate on the meaning beneath the words?

No offense, but not in public...too many "spiders" out there.....

However, to oblige your kind words and request,
perhaps a "safe" version would be, that, if an individual were to undertake and apply this piece to themselves, I would have to say,

"If the shoe fits - wear it!"

Peace be with you.

Cavfancier...

If I may be so bold...

A related (possibly..) poem I wrote in this forum and that you may be interested in,
is entitled, "Hopes & Dreams."

I have also developed a theory from observation...

"The human being is the ONLY living species on this planet that has the ability to relish in it's own species' pain & suffering."

I wonder - if this theory has any validity to be researched....???

Peace be with you.

I think that theory has relevance. I've been reading your work, but it's been a busy season for me. Now that I have a bit of a break, I'll check out that poem, and others you have posted.

If you could provide the link to that particular poem, it would be helpful.
