Image map separating

One of my pages uses a table for the entire page. It has an image map in the left column, however when the right column becomes larger (longer from top to bottom with info), the image map in the left column separates to encompass the length that is automatically added to the column due to the column to the right becoming longer. I'm not sure how to keep the image map TOGETHER at the top of the left column when the right column enlarges in size.

Ugh, I hope that makes sense, and if it does, I hope someone can tell me how to fix it. Thanks in advance!
