laptop shutsdown during disk cleaning

OK can anybody help. While running the disk cleaning aplication my laptop shutsdown. I currently using xp pro 2pack.
No the laptop is not over heating. Thanks

Try running it in safe mode,

If it had been a while since you have run it, You should try running in normal mode now, Maybe just needed a good cleaning,

Is the lap top running ok ?
